Let’s talk about the name first. Eco, ah, eco-friendly, green, hippie, natural, you get the idea.
WAHM, an acronym for Work at Home Mom. I had no idea what it meant when I became a mother two and a half years ago, but continually saw it popping up on websites I visited about mothering, cloth diapering, parenting, and etc. So now I know what it means, and it occurred to me the other day that that is exactly I am…. an Eco Wahm.
I stay at home, I have kids, and I work on the side, just a little. And I was told I was a tree-hugging hippie before I even really knew what that meant in middle school. Geez, so I thought recycling was a good thing.
I freelance for the local newspaper where I’m from and want to write more for magazines and other publications. I have a lot of ideas and opinions, but I hate offending people, and that makes for an interesting mix inside my head.
So I’ll write about natural parenting issues here, on my new blog. When it comes to parenting and greening-it-up the last thing I plan to do is sound preachy. Everyone has an opinion for you when you are a parent, and alot of people think they are experts, especially in the online world. So I’ll try to write simply, realistically, about what we try to accomplish with our lives when it comes to living with kids in a cleaner, more natural way.
