A fever of 103.5. Poor little guy. Azita that is. It didn’t stop her from playing all morning. Now she’s a bit listless.
She started complaining about having an earache last night/this morning.
I think that about seals the deal. Azita went dairy free with the family two years ago for Ada’s sake, but it’s become clear she had an issue with it all along. Her cousin on my side of the family is at least lactose intolerant, and her cousin on Payman’s side of the family had tubes in her ears, frequent ear infections and I think now has been diagnosed with a cow’s milk protein allergy. I believe.
And her aunt had tubes in her ears and frequent ear infections.
Azita didn’t have loads of ear infections before we went dairy free but she did have a few. So it seals the deal, b/c we let her have dairy last week. She’s had a week of tummy issues and now an ear ache. History repeats itself; and that’s how food trials work. Things happen over and over and you start to believe that maybe the older kid has some food issues too.
And her skin is itching her.
Symptoms of dairy ingestion for Azita:
Bowel issues (google bristol stool chart for more info)
I’m reading an awesome book (seriously, a must read if you have kids) called “The Unhealthy Truth”. So far my favorite quote has to do with just this topic:
“I eventually discovered that my son Colin has a fairly severe allergy to dairy products, which kept him suffering for years with eczema, stomachache, headache and chronic ear infections. I still cringe when I think of the way I smeared him with steroid-based creams, pumped him full of antibiotics, and put him under for ear-tube surgery when just taking milk out of his diet would have done the trick.”
I hope her fever goes away soon!
